Welcome to Derby Cathedral School

Y9 Option Videos

As promised, a collection of subject information videos have now been uploaded to our website - head over to the 'Information' and 'Year 9 Options' tab to see the staff videos that have been shared with our Year 9 students in the last week. Even more to follow in the coming days!

Welcome to Derby Cathedral School

I offer you a very warm welcome to Derby Cathedral School. Our passion and commitment is to ensure students of all backgrounds in the city of Derby are supported to succeed. As a Christian school we work hard to ensure all of our students are able to ‘experience life in all fullness’ (John 10:10)

Our high expectations are evident in the aspirations we have for our students. Strong academic success combined with personal development will provide a firm foundation for their future. Our focus on developing character enables each individual to flourish and be a positive member of our school family and the wider community.

Having a strong link with Derby Cathedral and our specialisms of maths and music give our students unique opportunities. Being part of our diverse community prepares students well for life in modern Britain and being a global citizen. We take every opportunity to celebrate this aspect of school life.

As a growing school, our future is a very exciting prospect. We have much to look forward to, with the move to our new site and brand new building in 2021, our first GCSE results and the start of our Sixth Form provision in 2023.

Please do take some time to look at our website. It contains all of the key information, current and prospective students and parents need. However, if you do have any further questions, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Mrs J. Brown

Parent Information

We are pleased to announce that a new selection of parent information leaflets and videos will be going live this week - please keep an eye out on the 'Community' - 'Parent Information' tab of the website for information on anti-bullying, our FAITH values and learning feedback.

Stay at Home Ensemble:

I would like to extend a huge thanks to all students and staff who have contributed to our recent music challenge. A particular thanks must go to the parents that have supported and encouraged their children to get involved, support with all of the technical requirements and moral support to make this a success.  We hope you enjoy it and brings you a smile.

The video below shows the school at the very start of its journey in 2018.
