Week Commencing 20/07/2020

Year 7 Resources

Task Description: This week you will be thinking about Jesus: Who was Jesus? What is prayer & meditation and why is it so important to many people? What are the main purposes of prayer and meditation in different religions? Does prayer change anything? What is the difference between meditation and prayer? You will also explore some of the many smaller religions that exist in the world: How come there are over 4000 religions in the world? Why do you think it is that about 4% of the world is atheist? Is that figure surprisingly small or surprisingly big? Will religions grow or die out in the next 50years?

Resources Required: Lesson 1: The ‘M is for Meditation’ PDF file on the school website explains all the key tasks and gives you the link to the BBC film clip. Lesson 2: The ‘Z is for Zoroastrians’ PDF file on the school website explains all the key tasks and gives you the link to the BBC film clip.

Completion Requirements: Carefully read the instructions on the 2 separate PDF files. If you have access to the internet, watch the linked BBC short film. All written answers to the tasks should be completed in your home learning books.
